This house that is called Borgstova belonged to the Sjøtungarden. That garden no longer exists. Garden is sold out in small lots, and most have wart to bust lots.
Garden has and we call Skaffargarden, Aallgarden and Oberstgarden (Ovestegarden). The man who where in charge for traveling in Vik(Skysskaffaren) lived here. Aall is the name of the family that eight garden early in the 20th century and the name Oberstgarden comes from the fact that officers at the Viksmoen Exercise Square own the farm for a long time.
At Sjøtun, the first mayor of the village, Christian Fredrik Fasting (1799-1887), and here was also the first post office in Vik from 1844 to 1864. The Sjøtungarden had a great livingroom house at that time, but the house burned down in 1938. A new large industrial building Ara was built in 1917, where there was cheese production for a time, later warehouse and home. The house was demolished in the end of 1999.
Today it is to carry Borgstova and an old grain turkey from the old Sjøtungarden. Borgstova was built in 1864.
Borgstover found on many farms. The houses was of benefit to the tenars, who were there. This lingroom house lasted after the war and up to the 1970s the benefits of living. The livingroom house has been restored and hosted for cultural events, meetings and various kinds of
events.
